A Day in DeSoto: Horn Lake, Walls and Nesbit-edition

We’re back with our Day in DeSoto series and this time, we’re exploring how to spend a day in Horn Lake, Walls and Nesbit! Read along to see how you can make the most of a day spent at these towns located in DeSoto County, Mississippi.

Morning 
Start your day with a sweet morning treat at Mr. Donut. Get yours to go and take them to Hernando DeSoto River Park in Walls, where there are picnic tables and a pavilion. This 41-acre park is DeSoto County’s only public access to the Mississippi River and offers beautiful views. 

Mid-day
If you're a history buff, stop by  The Lewis Ranch Experience in Nesbit. Here, you can tour the home of legendary musician Jerry Lee Lewis. Lewis, also called “The Killer,” is best known for famous hits like, "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On." 

You can also spend your afternoon in Horn Lake playing cards or board games at  The Game Table, or stop by  1010Disc to grab a disc before heading to Latimer Lakes Park for disc golf. 

For lunch, get a taste of World BBQ Champion Melissa Cookston’s barbecue at Memphis Barbecue Co. in Horn Lake. Or, try Old School Hot Wings in Walls or visit Channy’s Kitchen in Horn Lake to get your Japanese and Cambodian fix.

Evening
You can’t go wrong with Magnolia Bend Grille at Bonne Terre in Nesbit for dinner. The menu of this upscale restaurant was created by Chef Michael Patrick, a long-time chef known for curating Southern classic dishes with a twist. 

Some other great picks in Horn Lake include, El Molino, Golden Dragon Restaurant, Guadalajara Grill, Las Marias Modern Mexican Kitchen and Kabuki Hibachi & Juicy Seafood & Bar.

Looking for an evening activity? Skate Odyssey’s Horn Lake location is a great place to take the kiddos. And for a sweet treat, hit up Happy Daze Dairy Bar in Nesbit.
