Places to celebrate Father’s Day

02 June / 2025

Father’s Day is just around the corner and DeSoto County, Mississippi, has something to offer every dad out there. If you’re looking for different ideas to celebrate your dad this June, try this list!

For the outdoorsy dad:

Bring your dad to fish, grill, have a picnic or relax at Hernando DeSoto River Park – the county’s only public access to the mighty Mississippi River. Go for a stroll or play some catch at Olive Branch City Park. If you’re looking for the perfect place to take man’s best friend, your dad and his dog will love Renasant Park.

For the old-school dad:

Game Over Arcade Bar is perfect for the dad who's still a kid at heart. It has a great selection of iconic and unique arcade games that are perfect for the whole family. You can also take dad for a round of outdoor mini-golf at BankPlus Sports Center or bowling across the street at Strike Zone Bowling Lanes.

For the athletic dad:

Challenge your dad to a game of disc golf at Central Park – winner buys dinner! If he’s more of a tennis guy, Snowden Grove Tennis Complex offers several opportunities for match and doubles play. You can also invite him down to Hernando for open gym time at the Gatorade FieldhousePro tip: they offer monthly memberships for both basketball and pickleball! If your dad is looking for a more relaxing day, book him a tee time at Cherokee Valley Golf Course.

For the dad who loves to grill out but doesn’t want to on Father’s Day:

Give your dad a break from the grill on Father’s Day and take him to one of DeSoto County’s award-winning barbecue spots. Between Memphis Barbecue Co. in Horn Lake, One & Only BBQ or Jim Neely’s Interstate BBQ, there is enough ‘cue for every dad to enjoy!

For the dad who loves a sweet treat:

There are plenty of spots to treat your dad to something sweet! Area 51 Ice Cream, Chuggs Ice Cream Parlor and Happy Ice Cream are all great options if you’re looking for a scoop. For a great snow cone, be sure to try DeSoto Snow and Creamery or Vampire Penguin.

Ready to celebrate Father’s Day at the top of the ‘sip? Show your dad the best that DeSoto County has to offer!
