Since 2022, Stafford and Christy Houston, along with their daughter Emmy and a dedicated team, have run Bonne Terre Inn, welcoming guests for weekend getaways or staycations and special events. Set on a peaceful 23-acre property, Bonne Terre offers cozy cottages and guest houses surrounded by gardens, walking trails and peaceful lake views.

The property also features a full-service wedding venue complete with a chapel, separate bride and groom suites, and on-site lodging for up to 41 guests.

Guests can relax by the outdoor pool, get competitive on the pickleball courts or take part in activities such as horseback riding and fishing.

Dining is a particular highlight at Magnolia Bend Grille, where Chef Michael Patrick – who has been featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” – serves elevated Southern dishes with a Cajun twist. The menu ranges from steak and seafood to his signature Lobster Pronto Pups.

This summer, the Staffords launched Live at the Lake, a free outdoor music series on select Thursday and Friday evenings that brings the community together with food, fun and live entertainment.
