Southaven Open set for Aug. 4-11

 Mark your calendars! The Southaven Open returns to Snowden Grove Tennis Complex in Southaven, Mississippi, Aug. 4-11. Presented by the Oliver Foundation, this tournament includes men’s and women’s action for the first time this year. And, it is the only professional men’s tournament in the state! Players from all over the country travel to the top of the Sip to compete, so you won’t want to miss it.

The Southaven Open is a USTA Pro Circuit Men’s and Women’s sanctioned event that leads to the US Open Qualifiers. This year, you can expect 128 tennis pros taking to the court. You may see some of these same athletes competing in the US Open, Wimbledon or the French Open someday soon! Past participants include US Open Champion Andy Roddick and Denis Shapavalov who was once ranked No. 10 in the world.

Schedule highlights:

• Aug. 4 - Qualifying round begins at 6 p.m.
• Aug. 5 - Main draw begins at 10 a.m.
• Aug. 6 - Play begins at 10 a.m. Kids’ Day activities begin at 5 p.m.
• Aug. 7 - Play begins at 10 a.m.
• Aug. 8 - Play begins at 10 a.m.
• Aug. 9 - Play begins at 10 a.m.
• Aug. 10 - Doubles finals (time TBD)
• Aug. 11 - Championship finals (time TBD)
