Summer is right around the corner, and you know what that means… It’s time to get out and explore DeSoto County, Mississippi! Whether you’re seeking family fun, date night options or a night out with friends – here are some upcoming summer events you don’t want to miss!
Berry exciting activities
DeSoto County is home to locally owned and operated farms that offer you-pick and pre-picked blueberries and blackberries that are perfect for summertime recipes. Grab the kiddos and visit Bolin Grove Farms or Nesbit Blueberry Plantation for some berry-picking fun!
Jam out with the fam
Bring your lawn chair or blanket and get ready for another great summer at Sunset on the Square. Starting on June 5, Sunset on the Square is back to offer live music, delicious bites and relaxing evenings to residents and visitors alike! These free outdoor concerts are located on the Hernando Courthouse lawn every Thursday in June. Check out the lineup here.
Grab your goods at the farmers market
It’s no secret groceries are expensive! Luckily, you can find reasonably priced goods from your neighbors at the Hernando Farmers Market and the Olive Branch Farmers Market. Plus, when you shop at the farmers market, you support local makers, farmers and creators in your community. It’s a win-win!
Let freedom ring
There are several ways to celebrate Independence Day in DeSoto County. Bring your family or special someone to check out exciting fireworks at Olive Branch City Park, Snowden Grove Park in Southaven or Latimer Lakes Park in Horn Lake. Or, have your child decorate their bike, trike or scooter and ride through the patriotic Fourth of July Children’s Bike Parade in Hernando.
