Your guide to Hernando Dickens of a Christmas
Hernando Dickens of a Christmas, presented by Farm Bureau Mississippi, is back for another year of Victorian-era fun! Get ready to celebrate the season Nov. 21-22 on the Hernando Courthouse Square.

Dickens of a Christmas will transport your family back in time to a Victorian-era village reminiscent of, “A Christmas Carol.” This year’s excitement includes Tiny Tim’s Village for the kids. It will feature a variety of holiday activities for little ones, including a toy workshop, two inflatables and more. Santa will be there, as well, so be sure to pay him a visit to ensure you’re on the nice list. It all kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, with ice skating, a beer garden and food court, plus a Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m., followed by story time with Mayor Chip Johnson and a holiday movie on the courthouse lawn.
Holiday shopping made easy
Knock out some holiday shopping at the Christmas Market, presented by the Hernando Farmers Market. This event is set for Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can visit local vendors for fresh fall produce, local meats, baked goods, handmade holiday gifts and live folk art demonstrations. The Courthouse Square is also home to wonderful shops and boutiques, including The Square Cupboard, Saint Boutique, Cynthia’s Boutique and Small Town Sass.

While the vast majority of Dickens of a Christmas happenings are free thanks to generous sponsors, there are a few ticketed events you can attend.
